The Presidential Library presents educational projects at the international exhibition Eurasia - Our Home

From June 7-9, 2023 the Sirius Park of Science and Art in Sochi hosts international exhibition of cooperation projects Eurasia - Our Home, timed to coincide with the annual meetings of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council and the Council of CIS Heads of Government as part of the chairmanship of the Russian Federation in the Eurasian economic union.

The exhibition is dedicated to the achievements in the development of cooperation and economic ties in the Eurasian space. The main goal of the event is to demonstrate the integration and cooperation projects of the CIS countries and the EAEU.

At the exhibition, the Presidential Library, subordinate to the Administrative Directorate of the President of the Russian Federation, presents its projects at a separate stand. It was visited by President, Chairman of the Board of Sberbank of Russia German Gref, State Secretary of the Union State of Russia and Belarus Dmitry Mezentsev, representatives of the Executive Committee of the Commonwealth of Independent States and other guests of honor.

According to Director General of the Presidential Library Yuri Nosov, “video materials about the activities of the institution and cooperation with partners as well as a presentation of the library’s electronic resources are available at the stand”. Its visitors have an opportunity to learn about digitized materials from the new major electronic collection of the Presidential Library Eurasia - Our Home.

The collection is associated with the unique geostrategic position of Russia in the center of Eurasia, not only in the European, but also in the Asian part of the continent. The electronic collection Eurasia – Our Home brings together a whole range of collections dedicated to the historical advancement of Russia to the Far East to Pacific Region, Central Asia, as well as collections on the history of Russia's relations with other countries of Eurasia, including the CIS countries: Azerbaijan, the Republic of Belarus, Kazakhstan and others.

The Presidential Library is the first electronic national library in Russia. The collections of the institution involve more than a million depository items. In digital form, it features books and periodicals, newsreels, photographs, archival documents and materials on the history of Russian statehood, as well as the Russian language as the state language of the Russian Federation. Much attention is paid to the history of nationalities and peoples of Russia, the former Union of Soviet Socialist Republics of the Russian Empire.

Cooperation between the Secretariat of the Council of the Interparliamentary Assembly of States Members of the Commonwealth of Independent States and the Presidential Library is actively developing. Under the agreement, which was signed in February 2023, the organizations cooperate in the scientific, cultural, educational and expert-legal fields, carry out joint activities to preserve the cultural heritage of the Commonwealth countries. One of the important areas of cooperation is the transfer of digital copies of model laws and other documents adopted by the Assembly to the library collections in order to ensure their storage and access to a wide range of readers.
