
Educational events of Sverdlovsk Regional Centre of Presidential Library dedicated to 80th anniversary of Great Victory
On April 26, 2025 specialists of the Presidential Library Regional Centre operatingat the V. G. Belinsky Sverdlovsk Regional Universal Scientific Library held educational events dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. They were held within the framework of the All-Russian action "Biblionight - 2025". The Presidential Library's thematic resources were presented at the educational events.
Thus, the Sverdlovsk Regional Centre of the Presidential Library hosted a show of the literary and theatrical composition "Poems of trenches and dugouts". It was performed by students of the Ekaterinburg State Theatre Institute. The works of writers, servicemen and eyewitnesses of the war years for the performances of future actors were selected by the specialists of the Centre from the Presidential Library's collection of digitised archival documents, film and photo materials "World War II in archival documents".
Besides, the joint project of the Sverdlovsk Region Archives Department and the Sverdlovsk Regional Centre of the Presidential Library "The Memory of the Second World War is Noiselessly Noisy...." was demonstrated. It is a series of interviews of the famous Ural radio journalist Jan Khutoryansky with home front workers who share their memories of how they forged our common Victory. The presentation was accompanied by photo documents from the Presidential Library collection and materials of the book "...Please do not refuse", published by the Department of Archives of Sverdlovsk region.
An exhibition based on the materials of the Presidential Library "From Vasya Turkin to Vasily Turkin" was also opened. The exposition was organised by specialists of the Creative Projects Department of the Sverdlovsk Regional Universal Scientific Library named after V. G. Belinsky and the Ural Comics Centre. From 1939 to 1944 the newspaper Na Strazhe Rodiny (Defending the Motherland), the archival editions of which are available on the Presidential Library portal, weekly printed a comic strip about Vasya Turkin - a cheerful and resourceful Soviet soldier, a true national hero.
The collection Sverdlovsk Region: Pages of History is available on the Presidential Library's portal. It includes statistical materials, studies, essays and photographs of the 19th - early 20th century, covering various aspects of the region's development.
