The size is 12x25 mm. Pin fastening. On the reverse side - the brand of the manufacturer: Yalta souvenir factory (Crimea), price 15 kopeks. Location: From a private collection. - A fragment of the "Memorial of the heroic defense of Sevastopol 1941-1942", installed on the main square of the city - Nakhimov Square, in 1967, is depicted on the souvenir badge "Sevastopol". The authors of the project are architect I. Ye. Fialko and sculptor V. Yakovlev. The huge wall is made of reinforced concrete blocks, whose texture and seams between them have been preserved, which gives the monument even more expressiveness. The central part of the memorial is a bas-relief depicting a soldier with a submachine gun in one hand, reflecting three German bayonet-knives with the palm of the other hand. Two of them are stopped, the third - passes. In this poetic form the monument tells of the assaults of Sevastopol: two repulsed and tragic third, which could not be stopped. The Eternal Flame burns in the central part of the memorial. Marble plaques inscribed the names of soldiers who became Heroes of the Soviet Union for their participation in the defense of 1941-1942. Here, the names of the combat units and formations of the Black Sea Fleet, the Primorsky Army and city enterprises working for the front are imprinted. Since 1973, the memorial has a guard of honor rank No. 1, where the high school students dressed in military uniform carry a watch. For the fortitude of the defenders of Sevastopol and in commemoration of the 20th anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War on May 8, 1965, the city of Sevastopol was awarded the honorary title "Hero Fortress" .
