On April 13, 2012, the International Conference "The Right to Access to Information: Opportunities and Limitations in the Electronic Environment" was held at the Presidential Library of Boris Yeltsin, organized with the participation of the Association of Lawyers of Russia. The conference examined theoretical and practical aspects of implementing and improving legislation on access to socially important information. The plenary session was opened with a welcoming speech by the General Director of the Presidential Library, AP Vershinin. After the plenary session, the work continued in two sections, which addressed issues of access to information on the activities of public authorities and access to scientific, educational, cultural, educational and mass information in the electronic environment. Participants of the forum were representatives of the Ministry of Justice of Russia, the Federal Security Service, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation and leading state institutions in the field of information and law. Experts from companies "Google", "Yandex" and "Wikimedia RU" also presented their reports, scientists dealing with problems of legal regulation in the field of information. In the video-conferencing mode, the participants in the meetings were specialists from other Russian cities and CIS countries.
