Presented: a photograph of Yury Mikhailovich Chigirev (1987, in a ceremonial suit, with awards) and a photograph of the jubilee medal "50 years of the USSR Armed Forces" (front and back). The medal is a regular circle with a diameter of 37 mm, made of brass. On the front side of the medal is a five-pointed red enamel star. The star is located on the background of five beams of rays emerging from under the stupid corners of the star. In the middle part of the star there is a circle, on the matte background of which there is a profile pectoral image of two soldiers of the Soviet Army in Budyonovka and a helmet. On the edges of the circle are the anniversary dates: "1918" and "1968". Around the star there is a wreath: the left branch of the wreath is made of laurel leaves, the right branch is made of oak leaves. On the back of the medal in the upper part is a five-pointed star, in the middle part of which, on a matte background, there is an image of a hammer and a plow. Below the star inscription: "FIFTY YEARS OF ARMED FORCES OF THE USSR". The edges of the medal are edged with a ledge. All inscriptions and images on the medal are convex. The medal with the ear and ring is connected to a pentagonal shoe, covered with a silk moire ribbon of turquoise color. In the middle of the tape there is a longitudinal white strip, on the right and left of which there are a red and white stripes. Location: From a private collection. - Chigirev Yury Mikhailovich (born January 20, 1925 in Rostov, Yaroslavl Region) - went to the front in January 1943. He studied at the Tambov Machine-Gun School. Member of the Battle of Kursk. He fought in the Bryansk Front. Was injured. He fought in the third Belorussian Front. Participated in the combat operation "Bagration".
