An expert session was held at the Mariinsky Palace as part of the Scientific and Practical Conference on the Preservation of Cultural and Historical Heritage "The Presidential Library: towards the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory", the main topics of which were the evacuation of scientific and cultural institutions and cultural assets from Leningrad during the Great Patriotic War, as well as the role of libraries, archives and museums in preserving the historical memory of the history of the siege of Leningrad and historical enlightenment. Representatives of libraries, archives, museums, educational and scientific institutions, public associations and organizations at the federal and regional levels took part in the discussion. Lyubov Egorova, a member of the St. Petersburg Parliament, participated in the meeting. She read out a welcoming speech by Alexander Belsky, Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg.

The expert session was held within the framework of the cooperation agreement signed between the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg and the Boris Yeltsin Presidential Library in 2016, which became the first agreement concluded between the library and a representative government body in the country. During the session, the staff of the Boris Yeltsin Presidential Library was thanked by the Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg.
