Governor Alexander Beglov took part in a ceremony today to present state, departmental and industry awards to employees of the St. Petersburg Metro. The formal ceremony in honour of the company's 70th anniversary was held at the Boris Yeltsin Presidential Library.
"Today we honour those who make the underground reliable, safe and comfortable. Drivers and dispatchers, engineers and repairmen, station attendants and security specialists. Thanks to you, the underground is not only the fastest and most comfortable, but also the safest form of transport. On behalf of millions of St. Petersburg residents, I thank you for your work. The metro is one of the symbols of the city and its pride," said Alexander Beglov.
