Every year on the last Sunday of November, Russia celebrates one of its most touching holidays – Mother's Day. The image of a mother who understands everything, forgives, and loves unconditionally no matter what, has been immortalised in works of culture and art throughout the centuries. Historians and chroniclers wrote about the influence of Peter the Great's mother, Natalya Kirillovna, on him: "Great Wife, great Mother and great Tsarina, you guided the first steps of the Great One, you imprinted generosity, humility and self-sacrifice on his youthful soul."
