Conference on Russian language and literature opened in Athens

The International Scientific and Practical Conference on Teaching of the Russian Language and Literature has been opened at the Russian Center of Science and Culture in Athens. The event brought together leading experts from Russia and Europe in the field of bilingual education and teaching Russian as a foreign language.

On December 4, 2017, the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) officially announced that the World Library and Information Congress (WLIC) 2019 will be held in Athens (Greece). After the opening of a new building of the national library and the announcement of Athens by the World Book Capital in 2018, the city will host the largest international library forum.

Borodino was the result of a conflict of two systems, the two largest armies and the most powerful states of its time: France, led by Napoleon, striving for hegemony in Europe, and the Russian Empire, headed by Alexander I, who avoided this war.

79 years ago, on September 8, 1941, Leningrad was surrounded by enemy troops. The fascist Siege, which lasted 872 days, began. The Presidential Library, together with the "Radio Rossii" (the primary public radio station in Russia) and the "Peterburgskiy Dnevnik" newspaper, held a large-scale campaign devoted to preserving the historical memory of the Siege of Leningrad of 1941–1944.
