On June 23 (July 4) 1781 (or 1783) to the family of an infantry general was born Alexander von Benckendorff, Russian commander and statesman, the honorary member of St. Petersburg Academy of Sciences (1827), cavalry general (1829), member of the State Council and the Committee of Ministers of the Russian Empire (1830), Count (1832).
