19th International Book Fair opened in Minsk

On March 23–27, 2022 the XIX International Book Fair was held in Minsk. Russian books are represented by topical novelties, which are selected especially for Belarusian readers. In total, more than 50 Russian publishing houses were presented. Guests of the exhibition were also able to hear live performances by Russian authors.

Nikolay Nekrasov, known to modern readers as the "most peasant" poet in Russia, one of the first to speak about the tragedy of serfdom and the spiritual world of the Russian peasantry, was born on December 10, 1821. He was an idol of youth, a friend and colleague of Dobrolyubov and Chernyshevsky, as well as a successful publicist and publisher.

A selection of electronic materials from the Presidential Library fund is dedicated to one of the most powerful and original poets of the 20th century: apart from digitized lifetime and later editions of the writer's works, there are also memoirs, commentaries of his contemporaries along with some abstracts of research work examining various aspects of his writings.

The first issue of the legendary children's illustrated magazine Murzilka came out on May 16, 1924. It is published on a monthly basis for almost a whole century. The Presidential Library’s digital collections contain copies of the rare Murzilka issues from 1930 to 1942. They are available on the institution's portal.
