Spcialists of the Remote Access Center of the Presidential Library, located in the Central District of Uchalinsky District of Republic of Bashkortostan, organized an hour-long memory event for young readers called Mamayev Kurgan Recalls Blood and Glory! dedicated to one of the most significant and largest battles of the Great Patriotic War.

Children learned about the key stages of the Battle of Stalingrad, including the heroic defense of the well-known Pavlov House that lasted 58 days and nights, as well as the fierce battles and bravery of Soviet soldiers.

During the event, students were introduced to the collections of the Presidential Library Battle of Stalingrad: The Defence of Stalingrad, the section Second period of the Great Patriotic War (November 1942) and USSR during the Second World War and the Great Patriotic War. They also took a virtual tour of the Panorama Museum "Battle of Stalingrad" in Volgograd. Here, they could learn about the battle itself and see the fierce battles on Mamayev Kurgan. Students could examine each exhibit, move from room to room, and learn more about the history of the battle.

The event allowed the children to travel back in time to the 1940s, to remember the names of those who displayed dedication, fortitude and courage during the fierce battles. The participants read memoirs from soldiers' diaries describing difficult battles.

Students learned about the history of creating the monument-ensemble "Mamayev Kurgan", which is now one of the grandest monuments to the courage of our people and the Great Victory. For those who enjoy reading military literature, there was a book review of "Reading about the Great Patriotic War".

On the Presidential Library's portal, the collection Republic of Bashkortostan: Pages of History is available. This collection includes research papers, essays, archival documents, statistics, maps and audio-visual materials covering various aspects of the region's development from the 18th to 21st centuries.
