January 1, 2020 marks the 101st anniversary of the birth of the classic of modern Russian literature, the thinker, siege survivor and front-line soldier Daniil Granin. The outgoing 2019 was declared the Year of Granin; On the eve of the centenary of the writer, President of Russia Vladimir Putin signed a decree On perpetuating the memory of Daniil Granin and celebrating the centenary anniversary of his birth. The Presidential Library’s portal features an electronic version of this document.

December 21, 2017 in the manuscripts department of the Russian State Library (Moscow) was opened an exhibition "To live a thousand lives", timed to the 165th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding Russian writer Dmitry Narkisovich Mamin-Sibiryak (1852-1912).

В экспозиции представлены автографы рассказов... из легенд Мамина-Сибиряка — «Баймаган». Можно увидеть список рассказа «Старый воробей», сделанный... огромного комплекса писем Дмитрия Наркисовича Мамина-Сибиряка к родителям. Более 40 лет его жизни шаг... публике.
Все письма Мамина-Сибиряка были заботливо сохранены в семье, а в 1928 году значительная... писателя и человека его современники.
На выставке представлены фотографии Дмитрия Наркисовича Мамина... писателя Дмитрия Наркисовича Мамина-Сибиряка (1852—1912).

September 25, 2023 marks the 117th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding composer, teacher and pianist Dmitry Shostakovich. He was born in Leningrad and, perhaps, that’s why, like no one else, he felt all the pain of his native city and its inhabitants when the blockade began. It was he who was destined to create the score of a musical work that instilled in the Leningraders the spirit of victory and perseverance in the face of the enemy.

Николай Дмитриевич Телешов родился 29 октября (10 ноября) 1867 г. в Москве в купеческой семье Дмитрия Егоровича и Елизаветы Петровны Телешовых. Его предки были крепостными крестьянами Владимирской губернии, которые сумели себя выкупить.
