The Vienna's famous Kunstkammer which includes a collection of rare jewels and works of decorative art, which was collected by the Habsburgs over the XV-XVIII centuries, opens at the Museum of Art History (Kunsthistorisches Museum) on March 1, 2013 after 11 years of renovation.

On January 7 Orthodox Christians celebrate one of their main holidays - Christmas. This day ends the time of New Year's festivities, and until 1918, when the Gregorian calendar was adopted in Russia, the Orthodox holiday of the Nativity of Christ was celebrated on December 25, and a series of New Year's holidays began with Christmas. It was for Christmas in the Russian Empire that it was customary to decorate a Christmas tree.

Marking the Year of the Teacher and Mentor, declared by the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, the event was dedicated to the poet's educators and teachers, including his nanny Arina Rodionovna, who would turn 265 years this year.

In 2023, Maslenitsa is celebrated from February 20-26.
