280 years ago, on May 6, 1742, Empress Elizabeth, the youngest and beloved daughter of Peter the Great, solemnly ascended the Russian throne. The evidence of why she made changes to the coronation ceremony, how the crowned parent affectionately called her daughter and what the era of her reign was remembered for is available in the materials of the Elizabeth Petrovna (1709–1761) collection on the Presidential Library’s portal.

The Presidential Library invited young winners of the contest "Football is my favorite kind of sport" for an excursion and the opening of an electronic exhibition of their works. The majority of the invited children - junior high school pupils - came to the Senatskaya Square, 3 accompanied by adults. Both of them were pleasantly amazed at how beautifully children's works on plasma screens in the galleries of the Presidential Library are demonstrated.

March 9, 2020 marks the 86th anniversary of the birth of the legendary astronaut, Hero of the Soviet Union Yuri Gagarin (1934-1968). Digital collections of the Presidential Library contain unique materials dedicated to his life and feat. They entered the Outer Space collection, which includes newsreel fragments, periodicals, books, postcards, commemorative medals and badges as well as a separate large collection dedicated to the first astronaut.

“Culture.RF” portal has finalized “My Favourite Museum” national online voting and released the top list. “New Jerusalem” Museum and Exhibition Complex of the Moscow Region tops the list with the highest number of online votes, followed by the Museum of Victory (Moscow), the Isaac’s Cathedral State Museum (St. Petersburg) and “Ivanovka” Sergey Rakhmaninov Museum-Estate (Tambov Region).
