In Toledo, at the Museum of Santa Cruz (Spain) on March 14, 2014 was opened an exhibition dedicated to the Spanish artist El Greco - "The Greek from Toledo". The exhibition is dedicated to the 400th anniversary of the death of the master, and promises to be the largest of all that has ever been organized: it features about a hundred paintings from museums and private collections in the world.

To commemorate the four-hundredth anniversary of the death of El Greco, the Metropolitan Museum and the Hispanic Society of America are pooling their collections of the work of this great painter to provide a panorama of his art unrivaled outside the Museo del Prado in Madrid. The Frick Museum will display its paintings contemporaneously.

Monument to Mikhail Sholokhov unveiled in Egypt

A monument to the outstanding Soviet writer Mikhail Alexandrovich Sholokhov was unveiled in one of the main squares of Alexandria in Egypt. The monument was created by the famous Egyptian sculptor Osama El-Serui and donated to the city from the Consulate General and the Russian House in Alexandria.
