Alexander Column: "Hard like the Secret Will of the Saving God"

At first the whole Petersburg watched as piles - 1250 piles on 6 meters in length each were hammered under the basis of a pedestal of the Alexander Column. Then - how they installed this stone colossus with the help of specially designed forests and cable tunnels. It took only 1 hour and 45 minutes, but the event involved 2400 soldiers, lifting the column on the pedestal.

This title appeared spontaneously, but the time itself required a special award to be presented for heroic deeds for the great country. First and foremost, for the record achievements of the Soviet aviation and development of the Far North.

Moscow students have arrived to Yugra to save an ancient language of endangered indigenous peoples of the North - Khanty and Mansi. This is the second time students and graduates of Moscow State University undergo practical training in the village of Tegi, Berezovski District.

A new virtual tour of the Presidential Library introduces activities of the first body of state security of Soviet Russia

A virtual tour around the exhibition "The Saving Sword of the Revolution": Chekist in Life, Cinema and Literature" dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the All-Russian Extraordinary Commission for Combating Counter-Revolution, Speculation and Sabotage, is available on the Presidential Library portal. Thanks to the new multimedia product, everyone can see the exposition, which is opened in the building on Senate Square from December 18, 2017 to February 25, 2018.
