July 7, 2021, the Presidential Library hosted a video lecture entitled The Idiot by Fyodor Dostoevsky in the Light of the Axiology of Happiness within the framework of the Knowledge of Russia project. The event was the fifth in a series of lectures "Fyodor Dostoevsky – a Talk about Values" dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the birth of the world-famous writer, which will be celebrated on November 11, 2021.

World History and Culture: Israel found new Dead Sea scrolls for the first time in 60 years

New fragments of a Dead Sea Scroll have been discovered during an exhaustive survey of every nook in the Judean Desert, the Israel Antiquities Authority. It is the first new scroll to have been discovered in about 60 years. Written mainly in Greek, the newly unveiled scroll contains portions of the book of the 12 minor prophets, including Zechariah and Nahum.

This official holiday was established in 2022 when Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree titled About the Day of Family, Love and Fidelity. As part of the campaign to preserve the memory of the everyday life of besieged Leningrad, announced last year, St. Petersburg resident Anna Chernyak addressed the Presidential Library. She brought to digitize the besieged diary of her father, Yuri Khazanov as well as an amazing letter by which it can be concluded that the famous writer, author of “Two Captains” Veniamin Kaverin also leafed through this diary and, perhaps, even used it when writing his books.
