Bakhchisaray State National Park and Historical and Cultural Museum

The construction of the palace began simultaneously with the construction of the city in the beginning of the XVI century, during the reign of Khan Sahib I Geray. In 1736, during the Russo-Turkish War of 1735—1739, Bakhchisaray was captured by Russian troops. After the annexation of the Crimea to Russia, the palace was under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. After the February Revolution, the Museum of the Turkic-Tatar Culture was founded in the Khan’s Palace. Currently, the palace is part of the Bakhchisaray State National Park and Historical and Cultural Museum. The palace accommodates the premises of a museum of history and culture of the Crimean Tatars, an art museum, an exhibition of bladed weapons and firearms.
