The Presidential Library marking Russian Cinema Day
The Russian Cinema Day is celebrated on August 27. On this day in 1919, the Council of People's Commissars of the RSFSR adopted a decree on the nationalization of cinema in Russia, which, in particular, said: “All photographic and cinematographic trade and industry...is transmitted throughout the territory of the RSFSR. under the jurisdiction of the People's Commissariat for Education". In 1980, in accordance with the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR, the "Soviet Cinema Day" appeared. In 2001, a separate date was chosen for the holiday - August 27.
