
The history of relations between Russia and Poland spotlighted in the video lecture of the Presidential Library
November 14, 2019, at 11:00 the Presidential Library will host the next video lecture “Regions of the Russian State of the 18th - early 20th centuries”, prepared jointly with the St. Petersburg Institute of History of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The event dedicated to the Kingdom of Poland within the Russian Empire will be available live on the Presidential Library’s portal, in the official group on the VKontakte social network and on the institution’s YouTube channel.
Leonid Gusman - Doctor of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor, Head of the Department of History and Philosophy of St. Petersburg State University of Aerospace Instrumentation, in his speech will analyze the features of Russian politics in relation to the Kingdom of Poland, talk about the views of various directions of Russian public thought on the “Polish question” and the Polish national movement.
Natalia Eilbart - Doctor of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor, Professor of the Department of Russian History, Faculty of History and Social Sciences of the Herzen State Pedagogical University of Russia, will tell about the fate of the Poles who lived in Siberia in the 19th century - the military, administrators, entrepreneurs, scientists and exiles, about their role in the development and development of this harsh Russian region .
The students of the Faculty of History and Social Sciences of the Herzen State Pedagogical University of Russia as well as students in schools of St. Petersburg will attend the event.
