The Presidential Library launches a cycle of lectures about the Russian language
2023 has been declared the Year of the Russian language as the language of interethnic communication in the CIS. In honor of this date the Presidential Library launches a series of lectures on topical issues of Russian studies and the problems of the development of the Russian language in the world.
Five video lectures will be arranged. The first of them - "The Russian language and Russian mentality in the concept of Professor V. V. Kolesov" - will be held at the Presidential Library on January 27, 2023 at 13:00.
All scientific and pedagogical activities of the Honorary Professor of St. Petersburg State University, Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation, full member of the Humanitarian Academy Vladimir Kolesov (1934–2019) are associated with the Leningrad - St. Petersburg University. Vladimir Kolesov is the author of the original doctrine of the Russian mentality as a national worldview in the categories and forms of the Russian language.
Doctor of Philology, Professor of the Russian Language Department of St. Petersburg State University, Professor Tatyana Sadova, a successor to the traditions of Vladimir Kolesov, will speak to the guests of the Presidential Library and its online audience.
The event is free. The meeting will be held in person and will be broadcast on the Presidential Library’s portal in Live Broadcasts section in accordance with the program of live events, on the Rutube-channel of the institution, as well as on the page on the VKontakte social network.
The remaining video lectures will be held in February-April.
We bring to your attention a preliminary program of events:
• 17.02 - "The embodiment of value guidelines in the Russian language in Russian songs". Lecturer - Alexander Matrusov, candidate of philological sciences, associate professor of the department of the general and Russian linguistics of the Pushkin State Russian Language Institute.
• 04–06.04 (to be specified) - "The role of the Russian language in the formation of the Russian cultural space in the CIS countries". Lecturer - Levon Sahakyan, candidate of philological sciences, associate professor of the department of the general and Russian linguistics of the Pushkin State Russian Language Institute.
• 18.04 - “Living speech: norm and implementation”. Lecturer - Natalya Bogdanova-Blaglyan, Doctor of Philology, Professor of the Department of the Russian Language Faculty of Philology of St. Petersburg State University.
• 25–26.04 (to b specified) - "Rhetorical techniques in political discourse". Lecturer - Irina Mitrofanova, candidate of philological sciences, associate professor of the Russian language department of St. Petersburg State University.
Announcements of video lectures will be posted in the Announcements section on the library’s portal as more detailed information becomes available.
Video lectures are held regularly in the Presidential Library. The video recordings of past lectures are available on the institution's portal in the Video lectures section, as well as in the Video lectures for school heading.
Accreditation of media representatives is until 12:00 January 26, 2023.

Entrance to the Presidential Library is carried out only by prior registration and upon showing a passport: for media representatives - through entrance № 2, participants and guests of the event - through entrance № 1.
