The Presidential Library provides a conference dedicated to the preservation of traditional family values

On April 24, 2024 at 10:55 an annual scientific and practical conference which will consider issues of promoting national cultural heritage in the electronic environment in order to promote state policy in the field of family protection and preservation of traditional family values will be held at the Presidential Library. The event is timed to coincide with the 15th anniversary of the Presidential Library.

The event is held in the Year of the Family, declared in our country by Decree of the President of the Russian Federation. The document notes that this decision was made in order to promote state policy in the field of family protection and the preservation of traditional family values.

Dealing with families is one of the important activities of libraries in the electronic environment. Supporting a family spiritually and making their life more interesting with the help of books and communication is one of the main tasks of the library. Family is based on the formation of a person’s personality, where everyone acquires various skills, interest in reading and reading culture skills.

The conference focuses on issues of preserving and updating family historical memory in the context of strengthening the cultural sovereignty of Russia.

The following topics are planned for discussion:

– Families and dynasties in the history and culture of Russia;

– 21st century library and family: values, interests, prospects;

– Family memory as historical and cultural heritage in the digital era;

– Cultural practices and creative initiatives of libraries in the electronic environment to form the spiritual culture of the family, preserve family traditions and values;

– “Digital humanities”: new technologies in representing family memory in the electronic environment.

Researchers, librarians, teachers, graduate students, employees of various cultural institutions, managers and employees of state and municipal bodies and institutions, and public organizations are invited to participate in the conference.

An application for participation in the conference can also be sent by email to smolina@prlib.ru no later than April 12, 2024. Applications for participation as listeners are accepted until April 19, 2024.

Participation in the conference is free. Remote participation via video link is possible.

The events of the conference will be broadcast on the Presidential Library’s portal in the Live Broadcasts section in accordance with the program of live broadcasts as well as on the institution’s Rutube-channel, on the social networks VKontakte and Odnoklassniki.

Based on the results of the conference a collection of research papers which will enter the Russian Science Citation Index (RSCI) will be published.

Accreditation of media representatives is until 14:00 April 23, 2024

The letter should contain the full name, date and place of birth, passport data (series, number, place of registration), a list of carry-on equipment, contact phone numbers, the name of the media.

We draw the attention of the media representatives that it is necessary to forward applications for accreditation and arrive at the event in advance.

Entrance to the Presidential Library is carried out only by prior registration and upon showing a passport: for media representatives - through entrance № 2, participants and guests of the event - through entrance № 1.

In order to reduce the risks of the spread of a new coronavirus infection (COVID-19), the use of personal protective equipment during the event is mandatory for all attendees.
