The World Opera Star Vladimir Galuzin in the Presidential Library: "Difficulties made me an artist"

24 April 2018

Today, April 24, 2018, the creative meeting "Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow ... Not only about the opera" with the outstanding opera singer, People's Artist of Russia, the soloist of the Mariinsky Theater Vladimir Galuzin took place in the Presidential Library within the video lecture "Knowledge of Russia" as well as laureate of musical international contests Natalia Timchenko.

Admirers of opera were interested in a variety of issues: from the foundation of the creative profession and work on the image to the technique of great opera singers and the life of Russian and European theaters.

"Actually, for me it all began with a curtain, and not with a hanger, like Stanislavsky's", - Vladimir Galuzin told about the beginning of his creative career. - As a child, we often put home plays where I directed and where the curtain was a simple sheet. And even then I was surprised by the reaction of the audience, I felt a close connection and the relationship between the audience and the author". He stressed that from the home to the world stage he was helped by the many difficulties that he faced: "They made me an artist, and therefore I want to advise young people: never need to stop, you always need to have a goal and go to it. Then everything will turn out".

Vladimir Galuzin also noted that the familiarity with the Presidential Library was a pleasant surprise for him: "I often visit this district, and I did not expect that I walk past the building, where a lot of different documents are stored, including the history that is very important for my interests. Otherwise, I would have become a regular reader long ago".

"In addition, the Presidential Library has a wonderful conference hall, and we are looking forward to speaking here on May 25 for the first time", -  the artist added. May 25, 2018 the Presidential Library will host a charity concert "Music of Love. Dedication to St. Petersburg", organized by the international charitable foundation "Konstantinovsky" and the Elena Obraztsova Cultural Center. The program contains masterpieces of world classics performed by outstanding opera singers and musicians. Young performers, laureates of international contests and students of the A. Y. Vaganova Russian Ballet Academy will perform with them on one stage.
