
Conversations about literature of Ancient Rus’ in the Transbaikal Library
May 4, the Pushkin Transbaikal Regional Universal Scientific Library hosted a meeting organized by the Transbaikal Regional Center of the Presidential Library, the Department of Rare Books and Book Monuments of the Library in conjunction with the Faculty of Philology and Mass Communications of Transbaikal State University.
Doctor of Culturology, Professor of the Department of Literature ZabSU L. V. Kamedina gave a lecture "The Hero of the Literature of Ancient Rus’". From the lecture, the guests of the event learned about the ancient Russian chronicle "The Tale of Bygone Years" and about the monument of ancient Russian literature "Izbornik Svyatoslav".
The exhibition of books from the funds of the department of rare books and book monuments of the Trans-Baikal "Chronicles of Relics" rare books presented such editions as "Ostromir Gospel" 1056-1057 (facsimile reproduction of the monument, stored in the National Library of Russia in St. Petersburg); "Izbornik Svyatoslav" 1073 (facsimile reproduction of the monument, stored in the State Historical Museum in Moscow). Thanks to this exhibition, students and teachers of the university had an opportunity to get familiar with the intravital editions of F. I. Buslaev, one of the brightest Russian philologists of the middle of the XIX century, and his student F. F. Fortunatov.
From rare book editions, the meeting participants went on to get familiar with their electronic copies and got the skills of searching for information in the electronic reading room of the Presidential Library. Particular attention was paid to the familiarity with the electronic collection of the Presidential Library "Russian Language".
The portal of the Presidential Library presents the collection "Trans-Baikal Territory: Pages of History". The collection contains studies, essays, archival documents and other materials dealing with the issues of history, geography, land use, financial policy, demography, spiritual education and cultural development of the Trans-Baikal Territory of the late XIX - early XXI century, and the current Charter of the region.
