Hanoi celebrated a Day of Slavonic Written Language and awarded the winners of the Olympiads

May 24, the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Hanoi celebrated the Day of Slavonic Written Language and held the annual ceremony of awarding the winners of the Olympiads in the Russian language, mathematics, physics and computer science. This year, the popularity of the Olympiad movement of the RCSC in Vietnam attracted the attention of more than 2,500 schoolchildren from Northern, Central and South Vietnam.

In the hall of the RCSC for the guests of the event there were prepared stands with materials about Russian universities and Russian education in general, an exhibition of the Russian Geographical Society "The Most Beautiful Country" was opened, and a banner for photographing "Russia in Faces" was prepared.

The event was visited by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to Vietnam Konstantin Vnukov and advisor to the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Vietnam Sergey Tanakov.

The guests of the event from the Vietnamese side were the Deputy Head of the Office for International Cooperation of the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam, Mr. Nguyen Hai Thanh, the expert of the Office for International Cooperation Ms. Doe Thi Van Phuong and other distinguished guests.

Opening the event, the director of the RCSC in Hanoi Natalia Shafinskaya told about the history of the creation of the Slavic script, and thanked the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam, which fully supports Russian educational projects, congratulated the children on their victory and wished them successful studies in Russian universities.

Speaking to the audience, Mr. Nguyen Hai Thanh noted the Vietnamese youth's high interest in Russia and Russian education, and congratulated the pupils on the achieved success.

Within the framework of the event, a presentation was made about the main stages of the evolution of the Slavonic alphabet and the differences between the modern and Slavonic alphabets, videos about Russia telling the winners of the Olympiads and other guests of the holiday about our country were presented.

An electronic collection "The Russian language" is presented on the Presidential Library portal. It included manuscripts and publications of monuments of Russian writing, archival affairs, scientific works (including dissertations and thesis), dictionaries and reference books, textbooks of various types and levels. The digital collection "Russian language" will be cognitive not only to the scientific and educational community and linguists, but also to a wide range of users who love and appreciate Russian
