On June 18, the regular meeting of the Public Forum of Historians of Russia and Uzbekistan was held at the Rossotrudnichestvo in Uzbekistan, where the results of the organization's activities for the past period were summed up. The meeting was attended by leading experts of the Institute of History of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan, the National University of Uzbekistan, the Uzbek State University of World Languages, the Nizami Tashkent State Pedagogical University, as well as representatives of public organizations and mass media (Tashkent Association of Teachers of Russian Language and Literature (TOPRYAL), Russian Cultural Center of Uzbekistan, S. In his speech, the Head of the Rossotrudnichestvo Viktor Shulika stressed that the main task set before the forum was an objective coverage of the history of the relations between Russia and Uzbekistan, which is being successfully implemented. During the past period, two academic conferences were held: "Russia and Uzbekistan: Historical Experience of Modernization in the Process of Interaction and Dialogue of Civilizations" and "Russia and Uzbekistan: Milestones of History", more than 40 events were organized on the historical dates of Russia and Uzbekistan, and also published more 80 articles that cover this topic.
Thus he stressed that Russia and Uzbekistan successfully interact on a wide range of issues related to the economy, science and culture. Relations between our countries are developing on the growing, because they are based on centuries-old traditions of friendship and mutual assistance between our peoples.
One of the striking proof of this is the agreements and arrangements reached during the visit of the Head of Rossotrudnichestvo Eleonora Mitrofanova to Tashkent and her meeting with the Chairman of the Committee on Interethnic Relations and Friendly Relations with Foreign Countries under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan Rustambek Kurbanov, the Minister of Higher and Secondary Special Education of the Republic Uzbekistan by Inom Majidov and Minister of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Sayfullaev.
During the discussion, the participants of the meeting expressed their wishes about the expansion of the subject of publications, the wider involvement of young people in the work of the forum and the coverage of problematic topics in the history of relations between our countries.
A special issue of the Public Forum was devoted to the Battle of Kursk, which lasted 49 days, with the victorious completion of which was 75 years. When covering this event, materials from the electronic exhibition “Kurskaya Duga”, provided by the Central Museum of the Great Patriotic War of Moscow, have been used.
The meeting of the Public Forum once again confirmed the effectiveness of the people's diplomacy in strengthening cooperation between Russia and Uzbekistan.
The Presidential Library portal features the electronic collection "Russia-Uzbekistan: from the history of mutual relationships". The collection includes studies, essays, archive documents, postcards and photographs that introduce the geography, history of the administrative structure, cultural and economic development of certain cities and regions of the Republic of Uzbekistan, mainly during their period of residence in the Russian Empire.
