The exhaustive holdings of the Presidential Library are now available in Malaysia. On August 25, 2018 the center of remote access to information resources of the Presidential Library was solemnly opened at the Russian Center of Science and Culture in Kuala Lumpur.

It means that residents and guests of Kuala Lumpur - the capital city of Malaysia – now gain access to unique archives, book rarities, rare audio and video recordings from Presidential Library collections, which currently total 640 thousand items. “Russia – Malaysia: From the History of Relations” is a separate collection of studies and official documents, which give an insight into geography and history of Malaysia, and cast light on diplomatic relations between Russia and Malaysia from late 20th century to the present day.

On the opening day of the center the Presidential Library representatives held a presentation for guests “Electronic collections of the Presidential Library as the basics of cultural and educational activities organized for compatriots abroad”. There was also a masterclass for the Russian Center of Science and Culture staff introducing them into the work with electronic collections of the Presidential Library.

From now on friendly relations between Russia and Malaysia are gathering pace. The newly-opened center of remote access to the Presidential Library’s resources will give an opportunity to guests of the Russian Center of Science and Culture in Kuala Lumpur to study unique materials of collections and via video conferencing take part in events launched by the Presidential Library.

It is worth noting that the remote electronic reading room of the Presidential Library in Kuala Lumpur was opened as part of 84th World Library and Information Congress IFLA underway until August 30, 2018.

There are currently 38 centers of remote access to the Presidential Library opened in 30 countries, including Great Britain, Finland, Bulgaria, Italy, the Czech Republic, Hungary and many others.
