Collection "Munich-1938: falling into the abyss of the Second World War" presented in Minsk

A series of events dedicated to the presentation of the collection “Munich 1938: falling into the abyss of the Second World War” took place in Minsk.

In particular, a conference on the problems of falsifying history was held at the Russian Center of Science and Culture in Minsk on the example of a new book dedicated to one of the key moments of European and world history of the 20th century.

The popular science collection, the publication of which is timed to the 80th anniversary of the Munich Agreement, which opened the way for German aggression and became a prologue to the Second World War, has been formed by a group of authors from Russia, Belarus, Bulgaria and the USA.

The book was presented by Veronika Krasheninnikova, Chairman of the Commission of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation, Director General of the ANO “Institute for Foreign Policy Studies and Initiatives”.

Belarusian historical political scientists and journalists gathered at the round table. During the discussion it was noted that in the conditions of the “struggle for history” the date when the Munich Agreement was signed (September 29, 1938) is one of the key.

Summing up the conference, the Deputy Head of the Representative Office of Rossotrudnichestvo in the Republic of Belarus, Leonid Makurov, stressed that the tragic date in the history of European peoples at the same time provides a good opportunity to confront history falsifiers. The new book will help equip politicians, journalists and people who are not indifferent to the national history with reliable facts and arguments.
