
Russian Cinema Week opened in Slovenia
Shkofya-Loka city hosted the grand opening of the 7th Russian Cinema Week. The organizers were the Russian Center of Science and Culture in Ljubljana, the mayor’s office and the Skofja-Loka gymnasium with the support of the Slovenia-Russian society.
At the opening ceremony, the mayor of the city M. Yeshe, welcomed the participants, noting that the event attracted many fans of Russian cinema and this once again confirms the existing strong cultural ties between Slovenia and Russia.
Director of the RCSC Y. Metelev noted that this year the RCSC selected the newest films, which received not only high marks from critics, but also attracted the interest of millions of viewers around the world.
The week was opened with the screening of the film “Sobibor” by Konstantin Khabensky. Before viewing the audience got familiar with the photo exhibition "Sobibor", dedicated to the only successful uprising of prisoners of death camps and the feat of the organizer of this resistance - the Soviet officer Alexander Pechersky.
As part of the Cinema Week, six films, released on screens in 2017 and 2018 will be shown as well as the evening of our compatriot, prima ballerina of the Maribor Opera and Ballet Theater Galina Chaika, timed to the premiere of the film “Bolshoi”, photo exhibitions “Era Grigorovich”, dedicated to the outstanding Russian choreographer Yuri Grigorovich and "The Brilliant Petersburg", a member of the Creative Union of Artists of Russia, a participant in numerous photo exhibitions in various countries Alexander Novikov.
The Presidential Library portal features electronic collection "Marking the Year of Russian Cinema". The collection dedicated to the Year of Cinema in Russia includes official documents, studies, various graphic materials (posters, postcards, etc.) that reveal various aspects of the development of Russian cinema from the beginning of the 20th century, as well as presenting individual films and actors from Russia. and Soviet cinema. The collection includes about 600 documents.
