
Book Festival held in Sverdlovsk Region
November 15–18, 2018, the first Book Women Festival was held at the XI Yekaterinburg Book Festival with the support of the Ministry of Culture of Sverdlovsk Region in the V. G. Belinsky Sverdlovsk Regional Universal Research Library.
The main theme of the festival is modern literature and other forms of creativity. Prose, poetry and songs were performed in the library. The event included presentations, a practical part and a round table meeting. Over 50 authors, literary critics and curators participated, creative projects from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kazan, Ulyanovsk, Irkutsk, Yekaterinburg, Kamensk-Uralsky, Chelyabinsk and Kyshtym were presented. The special guest of the festival was the writer Guzel Yakhina, the author of the novels “Zuleikha opens her eyes” and “My Children”.
As part of the festival, two events took place at the site of the Sverdlovsk Regional Center of the Presidential Library operating on the basis of the V. G. Belinsky Sverdlovsk Regional Universal Research Library: November 16, 2018 - a webinar "How to implement literary projects", and on November 18 - a round table meeting "Cultural branding of Russian regions", a dialogue on the history of Russia and the promotion of cultural values. The main vector was the theme of combining the creative forces of the regions. The results of the round table will be presented in February 2019 in Yekaterinburg at the regional cultural forum Culturalica and in June 2019 at the Cultural Forum of the Urals Federal District.
On the website of the Presidential Library, Sverdlovsk region is represented by the collection “Sverdlovsk Region: Pages of History”. The presented statistical materials, studies, essays and photographs of the XIX - early XX centuries introduce the geographical, demographic, socio-economic and socio-political aspects of the history of the region.
