
Schoolchildren from Kazakhstan took part in the Russian language and literature Olympiad
The Russian Center of Science and Culture in Astana and the Kazakhstan branch of Moscow State University hosted one of the most popular contests of connoisseurs of the Russian language in Kazakhstan - the XIII Olympiad "And we will preserve you, the Russian speech, the great Russian word ...".
Over the course of two days, more than two hundred pupils of the 10th and 11th grades of schools with the Russian and Kazakh language of instruction of Astana and Karaganda “fought” for diplomas and prizes.
In his welcoming speech, Konstantin Vorobyov, Head of the Representative Office of Rossotrudnichestvo in Kazakhstan, said: “Our long-term friendship with one of the most prestigious universities in your country, the Kazakh branch of Moscow State University, helps not only to maintain a high level of teaching Russian, but also to preserve bilingualism in Kazakhstan - an important feature of social and cultural life".
“The role of the Russian language in the world is very significant”, - said Tatiana Krivoshchapova, Doctor of Philological Sciences, professor. - In Kazakhstan, it has a special status, enshrined in the Constitution of the country. Our respect for the language of Pushkin, Tolstoy and Dostoevsky is not lost: Astana was awarded the honor of accepting the best Russian scholars of the world this year – in late April there will be held a world congress of the International Association of Russian Language and Literature Teachers”.
The Russian Language electronic collection is presented on the Presidential Library’s portal. It includes manuscripts and publications of monuments of Russian literature, archival files, studies (including dissertation abstracts and thesis), dictionaries and reference books, as well as textbooks of various types and levels. The Russian Language digital collection will be of interest not only to the academic and educational community and linguists, but also to a wide range of users who love and appreciate the Russian language.
