
Students of China University of Communications learned about Russian folk crafts
March 20, 2019 the Russian Cultural Center (RCC) in Beijing hosted comprehensive event dedicated to Russian folk crafts for the students of the Chinese University of Communication, studying the Russian language.
Students and teachers listened to a report on the main areas of applied art, and also watched a presentation and a video from the series “Folk art and crafts of Russia” from the collection of the State Russian Museum. The staff of the RCC told about the Khokhloma, Palekh and Gorodets paintings, Dymkovo toys, Fedoskino miniatures, as well as about the features of Pavlovo-Posad and Orenburg shawls.
The guests visited the book exposition, the exhibition of Russian folk crafts and the exhibition "Crimea - New Reality", dedicated to the fifth anniversary of the reunification of Crimea with Russia.
After the end of the lecture, the participants of the event took part in a master class on painting the plates in the traditional Gzhel technique.
The Presidential Library’s portal features Crimea in Postcards electronic collection. It includes 850 postcards from the end of the 19th - first half of the 20th century, which are combined geographically and vividly illustrate the life of different settlements of the peninsula.
