The younger generation of Chelyabinsk Region got familiar with the Presidential Library’s facilities

On March 27, 2019 the Chelyabinsk Regional Center of Access to the Resources of the Presidential Library received students from the regional diversified lyceum boarding school for gifted children, pupils from the Chelyabinsk orphanage, and toddlers from the urban leisure centers “Belshonok” and “Vektor Uspekha”. A separate program was prepared for each age category.

Thus, the center staff told the students about the Presidential Library’s website, its remote electronic reading room. The children were introduced to the materials of the webinar of the Presidential Library "185 years of Dmitri Mendeleev". They studied the works of the great scientist, archival materials, photographs, the first version of the periodic table, written by the author himself. Everyone received a gift of Mendeleev’s table with the “autograph” of the author and an advertising booklet with information about “Russia in the Electronic World” Interactive Olympiad. Also, the Lyceum students have learned to use information retrieval systems "Garant" and "ConsultantPlus". They independently searched for documents of interest in databases, worked with modern monographs and textbooks for law students of the 19th century.

Pupils of the orphanage were introduced to the website "Gosudarika". The guys examined with interest the symbolism of Russia, learned a lot about the presidential power, and remotely “visited” the President’s personal library.

Kids from the centers of children's creativity in Chelyabinsk attended the lessons of the School of Presidents on the Children's website of the President of Russia and found out, in particular, what the President did during the week and who chooses the head of state.

On the website of the Presidential Library the region is represented by the collection “Chelyabinsk Region: Pages of History”. The collection includes official documents, archival materials, studies, essays, statistical, graphic, cartographic and other materials covering the administrative structure, geographical location, demographic, economic, socio-political, socio-cultural and other aspects of the development of this territory.
