Kemerovo Regional Library signed an agreement with "Kuzbass" newspaper on the transfer of the digitized archive

The Fyodorov Kemerovo Regional Research Library signed a licensing agreement with the editorial office of “Kuzbass” newspaper on the joint use of the library’s digitized archive until 1977.

The possibility of free use of the electronic archive of the regional newspaper is a significant event for the region. Now readers will be able to quickly view the issues they are interested in over the past years both in the library and abroad - on the website of the institution. The Presidential Library’s collections also enriched with the issues of the newspaper from 1924 to 1939.

Specialists of the Kemerovo library will add digitized materials to electronic local history collections, guidebooks and other projects, which will make them more complete and informative.

As it was noted, “Kuzbass” newspaper is a kind of chronicle of the life of the region, representing the narrative of each day. Now this chronicle has become available to anyone.

“Kemerovo Region: Pages of History” collection has been formed on the Presidential Library’s portal. It includes research, statistical materials and archival documents of the second half of the XIX - early XX century, which feature the administrative, socio-economic, demographic and ethnographic position of the Mariinsky and Kuznetsk districts, the territory of which forms the basis of modern Kemerovo Region.
