
Russia and Uzbekistan are extending cooperation in the cultural and humanitarian sphere
In Tashkent, a memorandum of cooperation has been signed between Rossotrudnichestvo and the Committee on Interethnic Relations and Friendly Relations with Foreign Countries under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
From the Russian side, the document was signed by the head of Rossotrudnichestvo Eleonora Mitrofanova, from the Uzbek side - by the chairman of the Committee on Interethnic Relations and Friendly Relations with Foreign Countries under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan Rustambek Kurbanov.
This memorandum testifies to the close partnership of the two countries and further striving to strengthen humanitarian cooperation between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Uzbekistan. The document also reflects the main directions of interaction between the two departments in the socio-political, cultural, educational, scientific and information spheres.
For the practical implementation of the provisions of the memorandum, a roadmap will be drawn up, suggesting specific joint activities in the cultural and humanitarian sphere.
The signing ceremony was attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Uzbekistan Vladimir Tyurdenev, Head of the Office for CIS Affairs of Rossotrudnichestvo Sergey Malenko, Head of the Representative Office of Rossotrudnichestvo in Uzbekistan Viktor Shulika. Honored guests emphasized the cultural and historical closeness of peoples and the importance of bilateral humanitarian cooperation, and also noted that such memoranda are of high importance for the further development of intercultural ties between the two countries. It should be noted that a regional conference of compatriots of the near abroad and the complex are taking place in Tashkent. events dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Russian Cultural Center of Uzbekistan, one of the largest non-governmental organizations of the republic. For the contribution to the development of Russian-Uzbek relations, the Chairman of the Board of the Russian Cultural Center of Uzbekistan, Sergei Mironov, was awarded the honorary badge of Rossotrudnichestvo "For Friendship and Cooperation".
