Beijing Pedagogical University hosted Olympiad in the Russian language

On April 20-21, 2019, the annual Russian Language Olympiad "To Moscow!" was held at the Beijing Pedagogical University. The event has been organized by Beijing Pedagogical University and Moscow State Pedagogical University with the support of the Russian Cultural Center in Beijing.

At the official opening ceremony, the head of the representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo in the PRC, Olga Melnikova, noted the important role of the Russian language: “Russian is the language of global communication, it is of great importance in the lives of ordinary people, as well as in international relations. The Russian language is the basis for cooperation in science, culture, education, economics between countries and their further development”.

The Olympiad has been held in two stages and included written tests and an interview. This year, more than 80 students from Chinese universities from the Association of Pedagogical Universities, created with the support of the Government and the Ministry of Education of China, took part in the competition. The winners of the Olympiad will receive a unique opportunity to study at MPGU for free.

It is worth noting that in May of this year the Beijing Pedagogical University delegation will go to Moscow to assist the Moscow State Pedagogical University in organizing the Olympics "To Beijing!".

The Russian Language electronic collection is presented on the Presidential Library’s portal. It includes manuscripts and publications of monuments of Russian literature, archival files, research papers (including dissertations and theses), dictionaries and reference books, textbooks of various types and levels. The digital collection "Russian language" is of interest not only for the academic and educational community and linguists, but also for a wide range of users who love and appreciate the Russian language.
