Kaliningrad researchers of I. Kant's heritage illustrated in the Presidential Library

The Presidential Library in St. Petersburg, on the initiative of the Kaliningrad Regional Research Library, hosted a scientific and educational conference and webinar “Immanuel Kant. The Genius of the Age of Enlightenment”.

The event, timed to the 295th anniversary of the birth of the genius of world philosophical thought and the ideologue of the Enlightenment, was attended by eminent scholars from St. Petersburg and Kaliningrad.

There were delivered reports on the philosophical heritage of I. Kant, in which he subjected to a critical analysis the deep foundations of human existence, Kant's postulates in the work of Alexander Pushkin, on the influence of the scientist's works on modernity and his role in the life of Kaliningrad.

As part of the event, a correspondence tour of memorial sites in the Kaliningrad region related to the life and work of Immanuel Kant was held. Also, those present were introduced to the electronic information resource Kant Online, dedicated to the life and work of the philosopher.

18 regions of Russian took part in a webinar online thanks to the joint work of the Presidential Library and its regional center in the Kaliningrad Regional Research Library.  

The Presidential Library’s portal features see the collection “Kaliningrad Region: Pages of History”. It includes studies, official documents, audio recordings and graphic materials of the XX – XXI centuries, reflecting the administrative and socio-economic situation of the territories currently forming part of Kaliningrad Region. The current Charter of the region is also provided.
