The Belarusian International Media Forum started in Brest

On May 23, 2019 the Russian Center of Science and Culture of Brest took part in the official opening ceremony of the XIV Belarusian International Media Forum “Partnership for the Future: Journalism and Social Protection of Society”.

The event has been organized by the Ministry of Information of the Republic of Belarus, the Standing Committee of the Union State with the support of the Brest Regional Executive Committee, the Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation of the CIS Member States, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, the CIS Executive Committee, the Belarusian Union of Journalists.

The city of military glory Brest, which celebrates its millennium marking 75th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders, has been selected as a platform for the meeting this year.

The Minister of Information of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Karlyukevich, the Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration Vladimir Zhevnyak, the diplomatic corps, representatives of regional and city authorities, the expert and media community, journalists from former Soviet Union and other foreign countries, public figures took part in the plenary meeting.

Throughout the centuries, the history of Belarus has been inextricably linked with the history of Russia. The Presidential Library’s portal features the collection “Belarus: the history of the brotherly people”. Various aspects of the life of this country from the 16th to the early the 20th century are reflected in official documents, historical and legal publications, spiritual literature, essays, memoirs, ethnographic collections, as well as visual and graphic materials.
