Residents of Katav-Ivanovsky got access to the Presidential Library’s resources
The Katav-Ivanovsk District Library has become the 55th Chelyabinsk Region’s center of remote access to the resources of the Presidential Library. Within the framework of the “Counter-Movement” project, the institution signed a cooperation agreement with the Chelyabinsk Regional Universal Research Library.
“Our regional project “Counter-Movement” has two main goals: to improve the skills of the staff of regional libraries and to create a single information space”, - said the Deputy Director of the National Association for Religious Scientific Education Elena Mikhaylenko. - Now, of course, there is a lot of information on the Internet, but it is not always reliable, and not everything can be found in the public domain.
Now, unique materials are available to residents of the Katav-Ivanovsky district, including electronic copies of old manuscripts, maps, official documents, newspapers, magazines, scientific works, photographs, as well as audio recordings and films from the Presidential Library holdings.
The Presidential Library’s portal features the collection “Chelyabinsk Region: Pages of History”. It includes digital copies of studies, essays, archive documents, statistical materials, photographs and sound recordings covering geographical, demographic, socio-economic, socio-political and other aspects of the history of the region.
