Opening of the remote electronic reading room of the Presidential Library in Kemerovo

7 October 2019

Opening of the remote electronic reading room of the Presidential Library in the Gogol Library (Kemerovo) was held on October 3, 2019.

There are still few such centers in Kuzbass. The first remote electronic reading room was opened in 2013 at the Fedorov Kemerovo Regional Research Library, the second - in 2018 at the Gogol Central City Library (Novokuznetsk). In early September 2019, the RERR was inaugurated in the Kemerovo Presidential Cadet School. The next stage of the project is the opening of a remote electronic reading room in the Gogol Library.

The project is being implemented on the initiative and with organizational and methodological support of the Kemerovo Regional Center of the Presidential Library. In the future, by the end of the year, two more remote electronic reading rooms will be opened in the region.

The region is represented by the collection Kemerovo Region: Pages of History on the Presidential Library’s portal. It includes studies, statistical materials and archival documents of the second half of the XIX - early XX centuries, which spotlight the administrative, socio-economic, demographic and ethnographic position of the Mariinsky and Kuznetsk counties, the territory of which forms the basis of modern Kemerovo Region.
