Training workshop on resource integration and building up collection held in Barnaul

The Shishkov Altai Regional Universal Research Library held an interregional training workshop “Resources Integration of the cultural heritage of libraries, archives, museums. Building up digital collections".

The workshop participants were leaders and leading experts of cultural institutions and educational institutions from 11 municipalities of Altai Territory and Novosibirsk Region.

As part of the course, attendees were presented with the opportunities and prospects of integrating the resources of libraries, archives and museums as a direction for preserving the cultural heritage of the regions; international standards for the description of cultural heritage; principles and approaches of forming integrated library catalogs; principles and approaches of forming the digital collection of the Presidential Library, including the regional component of digital content; organization of access to the resources of the Presidential Library; technical requirements for the hardware-software complex of electronic libraries and etc.

The reports delivered at the workshop were relevant, informative and carried a practical orientation, which is important in the context of the establishment and development of the system of remote electronic reading rooms of the Presidential Library in Siberian region.

The Presidential Library’s portal features Altai Territory: Pages of History collection. It includes studies, essays, reviews and reports which spotlight various aspects (geographical, socio-economic, socio-political, etc.) of the region’s history from the late 19th to the first third of the 20th century, as well as the current Charter of Altai Territory.
