“The Blockade Bread” campaign launched in the Lermontov Penza Regional Library

The All-Russian memory campaign “The Blockade Bread” which gives a start to the Year of Memory and Glory of the besieged Leningrad is taking place from January 18 to January 27, 2020 in all regions of our country. The campaign is designed to recall the courage of the residents of this legendary city.

Employees of the Lermontov Penza Regional Library prepared virtual tours for museums on the Presidential Library’s portal: “And the Muses Were Not Silent...”,Kobona: The Road of Life” and others. The Internet resource of the Presidential Library provides a tour of the exhibition "Materialized Memory: Defence and Siege of Leningrad in Museum Expositions". Among the exhibits are documents, photographs and objects from the collections of various institutions of St. Petersburg and Leningrad Region, which spotlight the defence and siege of the city in various aspects.

January 18, 2020 the schoolchildren of the school in Mokshan village, Penza Region, took a virtual walk through the State Memorial Museum of Defence and Siege of Leningrad, where they saw various exhibits and got familiar with their history.

The Presidential Library’s portal features Penza Region: Pages of History collection. Its includes archival documents, essays, studies and statistical materials which spotlight the demographic, geographical, socio-economic, socio-political and other aspects of the history of the region from the late XVIII - the first third of the XX century. The current Charter of Penza Region is also available to everyone.
