Russian language courses in Calcutta held remotely
Russian language courses at the Russian Center of Science and Culture in Calcutta continue their work online.
The head of the courses Madhabi Bhattacharia holds daily classes with a group of students, observing the regime of self-isolation. The first lessons were tests; when the teacher and students were convinced of the good work of communication, classes became regular. Completed homework is sent for verification by e-mail.
An important role in holding distance learning is played by digitized textbooks and teaching materials. The Presidential Library’s collection "Russian Language" contains studies which spotlight the main stages of the historical development of the Russian language: manuscripts and publications of monuments of Russian writing, archival affairs, scientific works (including dissertations and theses), dictionaries and reference books, study guides of various types and levels. Part of the Presidential Library’s collections is available on the institution’s online portal. One can learn about the collections in remote electronic reading rooms located in many countries. Today, the possibility of opening such a reading room in India at the RCSC in Calcutta is being considered.
