"Family War Chronicle" underway in Kemerovo

Kemerovo Regional Center of the Presidential Library at the V. D. Feodorov Kuzbass State Scientific Library prepared a multimedia longread about the "Family War Chronicle" project.

Work on an interactive project, the main goal of which was to preserve the historical memory of the Great Patriotic War through personal and family archives, has been underay since 2015. During this time, more than 2000 photographs and documents were collected, about 400 stories by veterans, home front workers, representatives of the generation that received the name "Children of War", as well as their relatives, were recorded.

Digitized photographs, letters, Red Army books, certificates, diaries, family stories, as well as audio and video interviews and other materials are publicly presented on a special website.

The Presidential Library’s portal features a separate collection about Kemerovo Region. It includes studies, statistical materials and archival documents from the second half of the 19th - early 20th centuries that spotlight the administrative, socio-economic, demographic and ethnographic situation of the Mariinsky and Kuznetsk districts, which territory today forms the basis of the region.
