Virtual exhibition "Great Victories of the Russian Fleet" opened in Penza
Employees of the Penza Regional Center of the Presidential Library have completed work on the creation of a virtual book exhibition “Great Victories of the Russian Fleet”. The exposition is dedicated to the anniversaries of the battles that ended with the victory of the Russian fleet off the coast of Grengam Island, Cape Tendra and in the Chesme Bay.
The books presented at the exhibition are annotated and supplemented with codes and inventory numbers indicating the location of publications in the library departments. In addition, brief descriptions of the battles are presented, supplemented with maps and diagrams, copies of paintings and ancient engravings, photographs of medals and monuments in honor of these events. The section "Biographical Dictionary" provides information about statesmen, admirals, naval commanders, whose names are associated with the historical events under consideration. The words "brander", "shebeka" or "gekbot" are described in the "Brief dictionary of naval terms and concepts of the XVIII century". A separate page of the virtual exhibition features unique materials from the Presidential Library’s collections.
