The skills of young vocalists to be available online

The Presidential Library is an information partner for the VIII Elena Obraztsova International Competition of Young Vocalists, which is held during August 23-26, 2020 at the State Academic Capella of St. Petersburg.

The pandemic this year has made some adjustments to the procedure for the competition, and therefore 27 foreign competitors from Belarus, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, USA, Australia, Latvia, Estonia, Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland take part in the music competition using video recordings. Most - 95 representatives of different regions and cities of Russia - Moscow, Moscow region, St. Petersburg, Pskov, Murom, Bryansk, Petrozavodsk, Yekaterinburg, Nizhny Tagil, Volgograd, Surgut, Serpukhov, Arkhangelsk, Stavropol, Novokuznetsk, Krasnogorsk, Tyumen, Belgorod and many others - will perform directly on the stage of the State Academic Capella of St. Petersburg.

Contestants are evaluated by renowned international jury, which includes outstanding singers and musicians.

The competition is held in three age groups - 9-11 years old, 12-14 years old and 15-17 years old in two rounds (24-25 August - 1st round, 26 August - 2nd round).

The announcement of the results and the ceremonial closing of the VIII International Competition of Young Vocalists will take place on August 26 at 18:00.

The competition is held by the Elena Obraztsova Cultural Center and the Charitable Foundation of Support for the Music Art within the framework of the International Project of the Elena Obraztsova Foundation “Voices of Heritage” using a grant from the President of the Russian Federation provided by the Presidential Grants Foundation.
