Representative Office of Rossotrudnichestvo in Kazakhstan congratulated the National

On the eve of the Constitution Day of Kazakhstan, which is celebrated annually on August 30, the National Library of Kazakhstan hosted a meeting of Irina Pereverzeva, the Consul General of the Russian Federation in Alma-Ata, Deputy Head of the Representative Office of Rossotrudnichestvo in Kazakhstan, with the heads and employees of the library.

Bakhytzhamal Ospanova, the director of the National Library of Kazakhstan, opened the meeting. She recalled the continued cooperation with the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Alma-Ata and the Representative Office of Rossotrudnichestvo in Kazakhstan. Among the most significant projects are literary evenings, performances by Russian and Kazakh artists and collectives, film screenings, readers' conferences and, of course, new acquisitions to the Russian Book Corner, which includes over 4,000 publications.

Irina Pereverzeva congratulated the library specialists on the forthcoming holiday and thanked them for the joint work. She donated books from her private collection, which contains editions with autographs of modern Russian and Kazakh writers such as Ismailzhan Iminov, Anton Mitnev, Karina Sarsenova, Valery Mikhailov, Zaytuna Kdralina.

The Presidential Library's collection of documents "Russia - Kazakhstan: History of Relations" illustrates the economic and cultural cooperation of Russian and Kazakh peoples. It presents statistical materials, studies, essays, archival documents, photographs and newsreels, featuring the geography, ethnography, economy, cultural development and administrative-territorial division of Kazakhstan in the XV - early XX centuries, including the period of its being part of the Russian state.
