Sverdlovsk Regional Center of the Presidential Library holds online meetings devoted to the Great Victory
The YouTube channel of Vissarion Belinsky Sverdlovsk Regional Universal Scientific Library, which hosts Sverdlovsk Regional Center of the Presidential Library, continues releasing video reviews of the exhibition "They Fought for Motherland".
The vivid, constantly changing exposition runs in the exhibition hall of the Sverdlovsk Regional Center. It also exists in the online space. The first review features poems about the war, the second and the third present documents, books and archival materials.
The head of Sverdlovsk Regional Center of the Presidential Library, Anastasia Rusina, discusses a variety of topics in her review. She highlights war childhood, the feat of rear workers and medical personnel, and the image of the Great Victory in works of fine art.
The review by Marianna Ponikarovskaya, the Center's chief bibliographer, is devoted to the outcomes of World War II and spotlights the colossal role of the Soviet Union in the victory over fascism. The video meeting includes information not only about printed publications from the Center's collections, but also the electronic collections of the Presidential Library dedicated to World War II and the Great Victory. The bibliographer advises paying attention to Elena Ruda's video lecture "Lessons of the Second World War in the Light of Modern Geopolitics", which involves a large number of archival materials.
The Presidential Library's portal provides the actual collection "Sverdlovsk Region: Pages of History", which contains statistical materials, studies, essays and photographs of the XIX- early XX centuries, featuring the geographical, demographic, socio-economic and socio-political aspects of the history of the region.
