Bishkek hosted a conference of young Russian comatriots
The Russian Center for Science and Culture in Bishkek hosted a Conference "Youth Initiatives of Russian Compatriots during and after Pandemic". The event was organized by the Council of Young Russian Compatriots of Kyrgyzstan, the Russian Embassy in Kyrgyzstan and the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Bishkek.
The conference brought together members of the Council of Young Russian Compatriots from the republican capital and regional offices in the cities of Karakol, Osh, Jalal-Abad, as well as Chui and Issyk-Kul Regions.
Viktor Nefyodov, the head of the Representative Office of Rossotrudnichestvo in the Kyrgyz Republic, and Alexander Stepanyuk, the chairman of the Coordination Council of Organizations of Russian Compatriots, expressed in their welcoming speeches readiness of senior partners and guides to give regular support to youth projects and initiatives.
The organizers provided the participants with an opportunity to share experiences of their own projects. The stories about the events related to the preservation of common historical memory, as well as the means to foster youth initiatives in social networks, were of particular interest.
An important part of the conference was the public addresses of students of republican schools. Children from Bishkek, Kant, Karakol and other cities became volunteers in educational, cultural and social projects. Olga Frolova, President of the Council of Young Russian Compatriots, noted that such initiatives demonstrate the careful treatment of the common cultural heritage by the new generation.
Preparing their projects, the conference participants engaged various sources, including materials from the electronic collection of the Presidential Library "Russia – Kyrgyzstan: The History of Relations". The collection contains studies, essays, archival and visual materials dating from the XIX and early XX, which spotlight the geography, economy, political and cultural life of Kyrgyzstan as part of the Russian state, as well as the relations between the independent Kyrgyz Republic and the Russian Federation in the XXI century.
The Presidential Library's portal releases only a part of its unique materials. They are available at Remote Reading Rooms of the Presidential Library located in different countries worldwide.
